There is no one currently in our political culture who has a better chance to heal our political divides. Mr. Kennedy understands better than most the agency capture of our government institutions. He realizes the problem, better than any other, of the national security state. He also comes from a long history of a family democratic tradition. He stands in a unique position. His promise to restore our constitutional republic resonates with the right. His long-standing progressive positions resonate with the left.
